Holiday Rental Essentials - Basic Cleaning Supplies

Happy New Year! I hope you have all enjoyed the first day of 2014. I started the day with a run in the rain (as the gym was closed). We then went for yum cha in Chinatown which has become a bit of a New Year's Day tradition. Then I just relaxed and finished off the book I was reading - The Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith (J.K.. Rowling) - which I really enjoyed. Once I finally got my little girl to stay in bed and go to sleep I proceeded to take down all of the Christmas decorations. This was the first year that we have had an artificial Christmas tree - unfortunately we just didn't have the space for a real one. If anyone has got any tips on how to get those things back in the box they came in - please let me know!

As sad as it was to take down all of the lights and decorations, it is nice to clean and declutter. When you are on holiday cleaning is usually the furthest thing from your mind - but this week I am going to suggest that basic cleaning supplies should be a holiday rental essential.

For basics I would probably include a broom, a brush and pan, a mop and bucket, toilet brushes and various spray cleaners. Do you agree? Is there anything I have missed?

We hope you are all enjoying this series on what we consider to be holiday rental essentials. We will summarise the list soon and welcome further input.
