In my make-up bag you will usually find a black mascara. In London you often see girls applying their make-up on the tube (underground train). I sometimes watch in fascination as I see how long they take to apply their mascara (always slightly scared that the train will jerk to a halt resulting in a nasty poke to the eye!) I can probably apply mascara to both eyes within 30 seconds - but that might say more about my approach to make-up than anything else. I find that the nicest mascaras are the ones below.
They're Real! Mascara by Benefit. This is the UK's best-selling mascara (one is sold here every 15 seconds and worldwide every four seconds) and is the one that I have been using since it launched in 2011.
Diorshow Mascara by Dior. I got married in a small town on the Amalfi Coast, Italy back in 2009. Rather than finding a person there to do my make-up I bought a whole collection of new make-up here (mostly by NARS and Daniel Sandler) and a good friend applied it for me on the day. This was the mascara that I used for my wedding make-up.
Great Lash Mascara by Maybelline. This inexpensive mascara has been around since the 70s. Kate Moss and Elle Macpherson are said to be amongst the millions of fans worldwide.
I am one of those people that really search around before I book an airfare to ensure I am getting a good deal. I then pretty much blow all of the savings I made as soon as I get to the airport - duty free, champagne bar, magazines etc! If you are travelling from the UK in the summer months you could almost get away without packing anything as the magazines have so many giveaways. I always look out for the ones with the gifts from Ren, L'Occitane, Nails Inc., Ciate and Benefit. The magazines seem to run the giveaways with the same brands/products each year. For the past few years I have got the Benefit mascaras (they were the Bad Gal ones before the launch of They're Real) with the Elle magazine. They are a handy travel size and I ensure that I replace them every three months or so - which can seem wasteful with the larger ones.
