Backpack for Carry-On Luggage

A couple of years ago when I travelled to the US while I was pregnant I decided to take a backpack as my carry-on luggage. As I explored the streets of San Francisco on my own in the few days before I met up with my husband I found the bag really useful. It was big enough to hold a bottle of water, a map and lots of other items. And I avoided the ache you get with an overloaded handbag hanging off one shoulder. I have since continued to use the backpack as my carry-on luggage. It works well when you have a pram to push and a couple of suitcases to wheel along as well!

I read this post on Laura Tremaine's Hollywood Housewife blog a few months ago. She does a lot of travel and also recommends using a backpack.

I have got a nice satin backpack from Mandarina Duck, so it doesn't look too shabby when I am out and about. It has loads of pockets for keeping things organised and secure.

Here are a couple of other ones that look stylish, yet are roomy and practical. I think black is nice and discreet and doesn't scream out that you are a tourist!
