When you stay at a hotel the reception is likely to be equipped with a map that you can take and they're also there on hand to answer any questions you may have re directions, offer restaurant recommendations, book you a taxi etc.
When staying at a holiday rental it's extremely helpful to have all this information there waiting for your guests.
Essential things to include would be:
Maps of the area (love the cute one above!)
Restaurant recommendations with brochures or cards
Local taxi numbers
Public transport timetables
Things to do in area eg. pools, adventure parks
Beach recommendations
Local doctors, chemists and A & E clinics
Anything else?
