The contents of your emergency kit will vary depending on where your property is located - but basic items could include: a battery powered radio, batteries, spare light bulbs, a flashlight/torch, candles, matches/lighters and a first aid kit.
If your property is located in an area that is prone to cyclones, tornadoes or flooding, you may want to consider a more comprehensive emergency kit, such as the one detailed here.
