Holiday Rental Essentials - Welcome Pack

It's nearly midnight, you arrive at your holiday rental after having just travelled 8 hours and you are welcomed with a bottle of wine, a few beers and water in the fridge, a packet of crisps and nuts and some milk to use in the morning for your much needed coffee.  Bliss!  A little forward planning can really go a long way to make your guests feel welcome. Providing some staples like this are such a great start to the holiday.

I love the simplicity of a wire basket filled with provisions.  Adding a hand written label welcoming your guests as seen in the image below is also a thoughtful gesture!

It also doesn't take much time to prepare some notes with essential information on how things work in the house eg. how to light the oven, where to dispose of your rubbish and recycling, where the closest supermarket is and opening times etc. but information like this is vital for guests and can also prevent them from calling you every time they have a question.

I really enjoy reading the owner's advice on things such as favourite cafes and restaurants in the area, best beaches, which days the markets are on... as having this advice from a local is very much appreciated.  Nothing beats local knowledge.

On our recent trip to Milan the property manager provided us with information on restaurants including takeaways and admittedly when I first read through her pack I thought to myself who would use the takeaway information she provided?!  Well I did! We had spent the whole day exploring the city and once we got back to the apartment it started raining heavily and we couldn't gather enough energy again to go out for dinner so we called up for sushi.

What would be your essentials for a welcome pack?  We'd love to hear!
